MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

    As our Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivery of the maintenance services within the northern region of our Defence Logistics business unit, primarily relating to Defence vehicles and other equipment under the Defence Integrated Distribution System contract.

    This challenging role will also see you:

    • Working closely with the customer to understand requirements to ensure delivery of material maintenance services to Defence
    • Ensuring projects are managed to time, quality and cost, achieving and maintaining excellent service delivery and high quality products
    • Ensuring contractual and internal key performance indicators are met in relation to budgetary responsibility and team performance
    • Identifying opportunities to grow the business and increase presence within the Defence environment, while also identifying potential risks
    • Coordinating the work of team members and ensure team members are qualified for the work to be performed
    • Assisting with work planning and management of Defence equipment/assets
    • Implementing risk management strategies to protect the commercial interests and viability of the business and to alert the customer of known or potential issues
    • Implementing safety, health and environment (SHE) policies and procedures and quality management systems, ensuring the safety of all environments for team members and visitors

    Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

    • Proven experience in a maintenance environment, with experience as a supervisor in an ISO9000/2001 environment
    • Technical trade qualification (Certificate III Automotive or equivalent)
    • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers
    • Demonstrated abilities in the creation of work processes, procedures and work instructions
    • Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
    • Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of audiences 
    • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to SHE
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and Power-Point

    Whilst not essential, experience in or an awareness of Defence related contracts will be an advantage, as will trade qualifications in engineering and a relevant qualification in management.
